ABOUT US

James (That's Me!)

I am a 26 year old athletic trainer by profession currently living in Anchorage AK. I provide medical services to two local high schools as part of a community outreach program for my employer Orthopedic Physicians Alaska. I spend my free time exploring the state of Alaska and snowboarding in the winter. I am spontaneous and don't always think things through completely before jumping into an adventure (as made evident in my "tumble" down Mount Marathon here in AK resulting in a broken neck, plastic surgery of my face, and several broken ribs). I am a burrito connoisseur and a puppy petting enthusiast. This will be my second time journeying across America, the first being on foot as a participant in a running relay known as 4K for Cancer. (A program focused on raising money for young adults with cancer.) I am currently 3000+ miles away from my fellow riders during the planning phase of this trip. I have the least amount of riding experience out of our group, not having rode a motorcycle since early high school..... but how hard could it really be??

Brett (Dad)

Brett Berry is a mechanical engineer from Richmond Hill, GA. He began his career working for several major car manufacturing companies before starting his own consulting firm specializing in lean manufacturing. He currently spends most of his time working for clients in Germany, England, China, and occasionally here in the United States. The man never stops working, in his spare time he enjoys fixing cheap broken vehicles he find on craigslist, or flipping some of the ugliest houses you have ever seen. He is a true MacGyver and mechanical genius, who will serve primarily as our team mechanic. He is a pretty cool dad who spends most of his free time traveling with my siblings (Katie and Kylie) and I or out on the water. He has a small amount motorcycle riding experience, owing several bikes in his younger years and has never let a vehicle with an engine defeat him to date.

Dr. Peacock

Preston is the reason behind our journey, it was his wild idea that got us started in the first place. Preston is one of the top, if not the top chiropractor in the greater Savannah area. I have know Preston for several years as a family friend. I wrestled with his twin sons in high school and attended the same college as them. Preston is one cool cat, when he isn't working he enjoys spend time on the water with his wife, as well as with his boys Sean and Justin. He enjoys water sports as well as fishing off the coast of Savannah. Preston also has motorcycle experience stemming from trying to keep up with his sons on dirt bikes. Having two medical professionals along for the trip as well as a mechanical wizard is about as good as a you can get when choosing your travel partners. I just hope I can survive the barrage of dad jokes that stem from these two old geezers during the course of our ride.
